WHERE AM I?
Isn't it terrible that I can only remember the last time I posted here on my blog by checking the date on my oldest post? Geez!
Where have I been all this time?
Did I run away to a deserted island?
Did I leave the publishing business all together?
Maybe I was eaten by the 15 foot gator who lives near my home (seriously--I've seen pics of him, though I haven't met him in person)?
The answers to those questions are:
No, but it sure is hot here in the sunny southeast.
No--never!
Not yet, although I hear he likes blondes and that counts me out!
Seriously, I've been working. I've been writing a brand new mystery series which will release its first book in December under the name Kerri Kildare (hence the new header up there).
I've been building my new freelance editorial business from the ground up. I'm also an editor for two publishing houses and I'm still running my promotions blog.
On top of all that, I'm getting back in shape and nearly killing myself doing that. Did you know that muscles can actually scream? I promise you. I heard my quads screaming on the stairs just yesterday.
Let's see...
I've also been managing 3 (sometimes 4--one in college) kids. Can you believe they think that Momma's needs should come last? Geez! ;-)
Hmmm....I know there are more things I do.
Oh yeah...volunteering for my multitude of chapters; teaching workshops; attending author events and conferences.
Here's a pick of me and such notables as Linda Howard at a luncheon hosting thriller author J.T. Ellison earlier this year.

Oh, and I'll be teaching my popular Book Factory class for the first time LIVE at the Moonlight & Magnolias conference in October. Hope to see you there.
And...when I wasn't doing all that. I was out kissing mascots. WHAT? Yep, the secret is out. I have a thing for mascots. Visit my website to check it out here on my Mad About Mascots Page. Have you ever kissed a biscuit eater? I have.
Whew!
I'm tired just thinking of all the stuff I've been doing and why I haven't blogged here in almost (hushed tone) two years.
The good news...I'm BACK!
Missed you guys.
Hugs,
Kerri

Hi Maria!
Thanks for stopping by and glad you like the name. I hope it brings me a wee bit of Irish luck.
I need it!
Hugs,
K.
Great to see you Chica!!!!
Wow you're busy!!! Makes me feel like a slacker! LOL
I'm so happy to see you're having a good time... Hope the mysteries are a huge success!

Lisa!
My peep! Great to see you and thanks for the well wishes on the series. I'm really excited about it and fingers crossed.
Big old hugs,
K.
Welcome back, Kerri! I've missed seeing you on-line, but was reassured when we waved at each other on the RWAOnline site a few months ago. I'm glad to see you're life is going so well. Good luck with the 'new you'.
:-)
I know that you use to comment on the loops a bunch. Then you were gone. I'm glad to see you are back.
Hummm freelance editor? Humm? I'll have to check that out. Can you help really, really bad writers?
Four children in college...oh my God! Do I need to send you a care package?
Kerri,
Seeing all you're doing and have accomplished, I don't feel so harried anymore.
Good luck on your series.
Welcome back,
Susan Burns
Hey Julie!
Loved seeing you on the RWAOnline site. I've totally missed chatting with you. Hope things are going well for you these days.
Thanks for stopping by and giving me a shout out.
Hugs,
K.
Mary!
Thanks for stopping by. Only 1 in college but 4 over-all. But I'll take that care package any time. :-)
As far as the editing goes...I'll do my level best. Let me know if I can help you in any way.
Hugs,
K.
Hey Susan!
I'm a self punishing multi-tasker. Always take on more than I should but I work better under pressure.
Back to the deadlines...thanks for stopping by, my friend.
Hugs,
K.
Sorry you've been feeling so lonely, Kerri. We'd like you to know you still have friends, especially at Eternal Press.
Hey, Kerri! Still alive up here in PA, too--barely! Are we FB friends? Because if you saw my timeline you'd know it all, LOL! Take care of yourself.
I soooo empathize with you. I've been out-of-touch with networking and writing this entire year. It's been one time-eating interruption or crisis or family tragedy after another in my life. Sure hope things settle down soon. Franz Kafka said, "A non-writing writer is a monster courting insanity." Well... that would be me. ;-)
Hey Kerri,
Welcome back, you've been very busy! That mascot was adorable, I can see your reasoning for spending your time with such a handsome fellow. Tell me, where do I sign up?
I've been good, just finishing my series and writing a new novel. I'm in my senior year now and will graduate next May so I wake up at 5:00 AM to get 3,000 words written in two hours and drink a pot of coffee before everyone else wakes up. My dentist isn't happy but my hopes of being published soon are!
